Understanding and managing your Operator Compliance Risk Score

The Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) system has been developed by the Vehicle ad Operator Services agency (VOSA) as a way of assigning goods and passenger vehicle operators a rating that allows enforcement officers to identify which vehicles are most likely to be non-compliant.

Some Customers and/or potential customers could ask your company for your OCRS as part of their corporate purchasing policies.

MVC will help you identify and improve your OCRS:

  • Regularly check your OCRS
  • Investigate areas of poor performance and identify area for improvement
  • Critically analyse your maintenance system
  • Ensure drivers hours and tachograph rules are adhered to
  • Carry out audits in relation to vehicle maintenance
VOSA is happy to reveal to truck operators their individual OCRS and is in any case obliged to do so when asked, under the Freedom of Information Act.

"The OCRS is a valuable internal tool for VOSA to assess risk of non-compliance and to aid targeting and it will continue to develop," said RHA head of technical services Steve Biddle.
